As there was a good offer for
buffet dinner by China Treasures through Groupon, we decided to have a dinner
there. The ambiance of the restaurant was good. The place was bright, clean,
spacious and uncluttered. Apart from the open area layout China Treasures
provide private rooms for dining. What struck us most unusual though was the
meal arrangement. Although it was a buffet dinner, we had to order from a list
given to us. Consequently, we could not have individual choice of dishes that
we could adjust our own individual portion to suit our appetite.
The drinks were not included in
the buffet arrangement and they were charged at a la carte price. Wow, how
expensive they were, and I agree with the comments by others that China
Treasures' prices are on the high side. China Treasures is one of the very few
Chinese Restaurants in Kuala Lumpur serving halal food, and consequently, it is
very popular with the Muslim Malays. China Treasures serve a wide selection of
Chinese cuisine: soup, seafood, vegetable and meat dishes (including venison and
duck). The dishes we chose that evening were delicious, and no doubt we will
come back again to experience China Treasures. It is not surprising China
Treasures was short-listed in the Best Chinese Restaurant category of Time Out
KL Food Awards 2009!
