Exclusive Food Tasting & Specialty Dish Preview @ MINORI Japanese Restaurant, The Royale Chulan Damansara Hotel!

As a die-heart Japanese Food lover, scouting for new Japanese restaurant is always my on-going mission. My recent dining at Minori Japanese Restaurant at The Royal Chulan Damansara Hotel was actually the strangest and most impressed dining experience as Minori was serving some of the most special, exotic and exclusive dishes!
So this is my second time visiting my favorite Japanese Restaurant, Minori and I’m proud to be invited to the MINORI MEDIA DAY again by the owner of Minori, Dato Jessie Yow. Thanks again for the friendly warm host.
The lunch was started by the so-called appetizer which is the Fish Sperm which is served raw! The slippery, juicy pearl white food is actually sperm harvested from Cod Fish, it has a melting-in-your-mouth texture and you will definitely fall in love with it if you are sashimi lover, or probably sperm lover? Ahem! For those who never try sperms, this is the good chance for you to try, in a more open and glamorous way. As a small plate of cod fish sperm easily cost more than RM300!
This was then followed by the Foie Gras Chawanmushi, another highlight as many Japanese restaurants in Malaysia only serve Chawanmushi with Unagi on top. The taste of foie gras absolutely blends better with Chawanmushi, compare with Unagi as foie gras will easily melt in your mouth, casting a strong fragrance out from your mouth, even from your nose!
Next, we got Minori Rolls, also known as Malaysian Rolls in MINORI. It is made of fresh soft-shell crab and grilled eel as the main ingredients. Trust me, this is one of the best Sushi Rolls I’ve ever tasted. It is tender, juicy at the same time because of the avocados cream and mayonnaise. Thanks to the master Chef Takahiro for the amazing Sushi Rolls!
As usual, the lunch finally ended up with dessert, the Fish Collagen Mochi which is made from fish bone and fish scales as they are rich in collagen. Chef Takahiro demonstrated to us how to DIY our own Collagen Mochi before we can enjoy eating it. First, cut the Mochi evenly into 8 pieces, then pour in the soya powder and then followed by the Gula Melaka syrup. Stir gently and make sure the pieces of collagen mocha are all well-coated and here you go!
As CNY is around the corner, we had a surprise Lou Sang ceremony. Everybody was enjoying the session as we love the Japanese style Yee Sang, who don’t? HUAT ah!!!
